These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Hearth: Home Inventory ("Hearth", "the app", "we", "us"). The app is published by an individual developer, not a company. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You can reach us at support@taomindapp.com.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Hearth on Apple devices that you own or control, subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service and Apple's standard end-user licence agreement. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or reverse engineer the app, or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law does not allow us to prohibit it.
Hearth can be used free of charge, with limits on how many items, photos, and maintenance schedules you can keep. Hearth Pro removes those limits. Pro is sold as a monthly, quarterly, or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. What each plan includes, and what it costs in your territory, is shown in the app before you buy anything.
Auto-renewing subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews for the same period automatically, and your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before that period ends. The price shown in the app at the time of purchase is the price that applies; Apple sets the price separately in each territory, and the App Store is the only authoritative source for what you will be charged.
Cancelling a subscription. You can cancel at any time in iOS: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Hearth, and turn off auto-renewal. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the period you are already in, and it does not cut that period short — you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends. Deleting the app, and deleting your Hearth account, do not cancel a subscription. If you delete your account while a subscription is running, it keeps running and keeps being charged until you cancel it in iOS.
The lifetime purchase. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it never renews. It unlocks the Pro features for as long as Hearth remains available on the App Store and we continue to operate the service. "Lifetime" refers to the life of the app, not to the lifetime of any person. If we discontinue the app or the service, the lifetime purchase does not entitle you to a refund and does not oblige us to keep the service running.
Refunds. Every purchase is processed by Apple, and refunds are granted or refused by Apple under Apple's policies rather than ours. We cannot issue a refund, and we have no way to approve, reverse, or block a charge. To ask for one, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Changes to prices and to the free limits. Apple may change subscription prices. Where the law requires it, Apple will ask you to accept a higher price before it applies, and you can cancel instead of accepting. We may also change what the free version includes. We will not withdraw a feature you have paid for during a period you have already paid for.
Purchases made through the App Store are also governed by Apple's standard end-user licence agreement and Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. Those apply in addition to these terms, and where they and these terms disagree about payment, Apple's terms govern.
Hearth is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any schedule, reminder, item record, or recall match it produces is accurate or complete. You use the app at your own risk.
Hearth is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It does not inspect, diagnose, or repair anything.
You own the content you put into Hearth: your item records, notes, photos, maintenance tasks, and repair logs. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the app for you — to store that content, transmit it, and display it back to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose, and that licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload the photos and information you add.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.
Hearth depends on services provided by others: Apple (Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, the App Store), Cloudflare (photo storage and the network tunnel to our API), and Tencent Cloud (our servers). Their availability and terms are outside our control.
Recall data comes from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, a US government source, and is provided as-is. We do not control it and cannot guarantee that it is complete, current, or correct.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any missed maintenance, any incorrect or missing recall match, or any decision you made in reliance on the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. If you have never paid us anything, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, and nothing here affects consumer rights you have under mandatory local law.
You may stop using Hearth at any time, and you may delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, or if we discontinue the service. Sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the app will be brought in the courts located in the State of California.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and we will note material changes in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
